The Ballarat Technology Park (BTP) undertakes the following:

  • Accelerates business development and economic growth
  • Provides state-of-the-art physical infrastructure
  • Fosters non-competitive collaboration and brokers strategic alliances between BTP tenants, the Federation University Australia, and industry to develop effective business partnerships
  • Provides consultation opportunities with academic researchers and skilled professionals

  • Helps business to identify venture capital and funding from other businesses, financiers and local, state and federal government
  • Promotes the reputation of the region as an ICT hub, advancing the standing of its tenants
  • Is a stimulating precinct and dynamic work environment in a natural bushland setting
  • Offers excellent facilities including accommodation, conference and catering services, in addition to plentiful parking and the broad facilities of the Mt Helen Campus
  • Is committed to fostering a productive and sustainable community of technology companies


The Ballarat Technology Park:

  • Contains 22,500 square metres of floor area in eight buildings
  • Has a capital value of approximately $100 million
  • Houses 30 companies, including IBM, Berry Street, Concentrix, Primary Health Care, Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority, State Revenue Office
  • Technology Park tenants employ more than 1400 people
  • Contributes to the regional employment annually of approximately 2000 further people through flow on effects
  • Annually contributes approximately $100 million into regional household income
  • Annually contributes approximately $300 million to regional outputs
  • The BTP has placed a significant focus on attracting and fostering businesses that operate within the Information and Communications Technology industry sector. However other technologies being pursued include bio med,  bio tech and renewable energy technologies.
